Our Counseling Services

What should you expect from your counseling experience? As solution-focused therapists, our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

We work with a large spectrum of emotional and psychological challenges in a comfortable and safe environment. Each session is personalized to fit the individual needs and desire for healing. Here are some issues we can help you with:

Marriage and Family

God created us for relationship and intimacy. He said it was not good for man to be alone! Why not experience the most extraordinary relationship possible? Pastor Gary and Kathy help families move toward more effective communication, instill a sense of God's purpose in families, and foster hope. Unfortunately, most people we minister to have developed patterns and coping mechanisms that are not healthy or biblical. Most have walked in these patterns so long that they have convinced themselves that their patterns are normal (biblical). Using our combined forty years experience, we will introduce biblical concepts and tools that will engender communication, purpose and hope to help people experience the greatest marriage possible. The teenage years are some of the most challenging years for teens and parents. Teenagers are trying to find balance between growing independence and a necessary amount of dependence, which can create intense internal conflict which may manifest in the form of rebellion. The key is finding how to respond effectively without reacting and making the conflict worse. Sometimes teens just need someone to listen without making judgment and fear that there may be something wrong with them. This generation presents many peer pressures ranging from internet use to substance abuse, friends and sex. Professional counselors can offer counsel and understanding in order to help the teen make wise and healthy choices. Read more...

Life Coaching

Life Coaching is different from counseling in that the life coach focuses on where the client wants to go in specific personal projects, business endeavors, relationships, or profession, exposing obstacles and challenges, and then choosing a course of action to create the desired result. Gary and Kathy are both Certified and trained Life Coaches. Read more...

Men's Issues

Trauma/PTSD, anger management, and sexual/pornography addiction are not mutually exclusive to men but are much more common to men than women. Gary has invested much of his twenty year counseling venture helping men deal with and gain victory over these and other ?life controlling? issues. Using a variety of methods and techniques specifically designed for the client and their unique situation, Gary leads men to an awareness of root causes for his undesirable behavior. Then, he teams with clients to develop and implement a plan of action to walk in victory over destructive behaviors.

Addiction, Recovery, and Co-dependency

Addiction can seem life an impossible challenge. It is important to find out what is driving one towards addiction, and if one is willing to do whatever it takes to become free. Once this choice to be free of addiction and or co-dependency has been established, the counselor can help one walk through the process of being set free of drugs, alcohol, food, or any other substance of choice.

Grief counseling is different than other types of counseling because there is a process that one must walk through in order to reach a place of acceptance. People in grief can experience a range of intense emotions that must be felt but processed through in a healthy way. Gary and Kathy have both experienced walking through grief and have worked with many people who have lost loved ones.

Theophostic Counseling

Theophostic Counseling is used when one cannot find a place of freedom from past experiences that have caused trauma. The experience is revisited through a place of prayer and visualization as we invite the presence of Jesus Christ and receive His heart felt healing. Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Read more...

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that helps clients understand that their behaviors are directly connected to their thought and feelings. Once the thought patterns are identified, clients can learn how to choose new positive thoughts, that will then bring positive results. CBT can be used to help people be set free from anxiety, addictions, fears, and destructive ways of reacting to situations.
